Jon Fitch is an American mixed martial artist, competing in the welterweight division of Bellator since 2018. He is a former PFL Welterweight Champion, and also formerly competed for the Ultimate Fighting Championship where he compiled a record of 14–3–1 and challenged for the welterweight title.

This seminar will focus on situational awareness. We will be going over real life scenarios and how to defend yourself. We will be focusing on creating space with you and your attackers. We will go over self – defense tactics and de-escalation tactics to ensure safety of you and your loved ones. All techniques have been taken from the FitchSMASH system.

Defensible position

Framing

Creating and maintaining distance between hips by using Proper Hand Position

Left/Right Application

Allows you to stay mobile. Can Fill the space with strikes.

Striking

Attack sensitive areas with extreme violence without taking damage (cover the left frame and right frame)

Knees to the groin

Bear Hugs

Belly to belly: frame out (hips and neck), knee, headbutt

From behind: trapped arm(s) – push-pull with momentum and leg trap, fight the hands and turn

*Please come in flexible clothing designed with athletic performance in mind. Athletic shorts or nicely cut jogging pants and a t-shirt highly recommended as well as some water and a towel.
