In February 2017, during one of the wettest winters in decades, several San Jose neighborhoods experienced severe flooding that has forced thousands of residents and businesses to evacuate their homes and caused significant damage to public and private property throughout the city. The most severe flooding has taken place in neighborhoods along Coyote Creek, which includes a number of low-income communities and mobile home parks that were submerged when Anderson Reservoir reached its capacity and began spilling into the creek.
On Saturday, March 11, Heroes Martial Arts will host a benefit event to raise money for the San Jose Flood Victims Relief Fund. This event will be donation based and open to the public and include the following events:
9:00 AM Self Defense Seminar
10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Open Mat
Roll with a Black Belt! Black Belts will be on hand for training at $1 per minute with all funds going directly to the San Jose Flood Victims Relief Fund!
In addition to great training with great people, the following companies and organizations have donated to a raffle to be held on site:
Forager Tasting Room and Eatery
